There are many ‘air’ activities that Scouts can undertake, below you can find information on the Air Activities Badge, Gliding, Great Western Ambulance Challenge.

Air Activity Badges

The Helicopter Museum at Weston-Super-Mare is now able to cover the activities for the Air Activities Staged Activity Badge and the Scout Air Researcher Activity badge.

Gliding

Glider flights can be arranged for Scouts and Explorer Scouts on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between late April and early September.

Flights are with instructors at Cotswold Gliding Club in Aston Down, between 6pm and dusk.

Cost

  • Scouts – £15.00
  • Explorer Scouts – £15.00
  • Adult leaders / helpers – £25.00

Great Western Air Ambulance Challenge

The Air Ambulance Challenge Badge is open to all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers, and is in 5 parts:

  1. Helicopters
  2. Great Western Air Ambulance
  3. An Air Activity
  4. First Aid
  5. A fundraising activity for the Air Ambulance Charity

The badge costs £1.50.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
