Volunteer with us

Help us get 4000 young people off our waiting lists and into Scouting!

What could be more important to nurturing the kind of society we all want to live in?

Scouting provides an exciting programme of activities designed to help young people develop. It provides a foundation for great values to live by such as: helpfulness, friendship, cooperation; respect for self and for others; understanding and tolerance; integrity; leadership, resourcefulness and courage.

All the above is why we need even more support from people like you. With just a little of your resources – time, talent, money, and goodwill – we can make a huge difference.

We welcome people of all ages, interests and backgrounds. There is no need to have been involved in Scouting before; all that is required is a willingness to give some of your time and a positive attitude!

Scouts is a great way to make friends as our adult members have a lively social and active programme. Many people find that the free learning they receive helps in both their professional and personal lives.

It’s not all outdoor adventure for our adult volunteers, they help in many ways which might include, for example, drama and arts through to providing much needed organisational support, training, mentoring, administration, fundraising and as charity trustees. The list of opportunities is almost endless.

In Avon we rely on almost 4,000 volunteers like you. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and the learning we offer is tailored to each individual. You can learn at your own pace and we will support and empower you to lead others. The volunteering opportunities that we offer are flexible so they can fit with your individual circumstances.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
