Rickard Shield

The Rickard Sheild is a night navigation exercise aimed at Explorers, Rangers and Scout Network.

Explorers and Rangers can win the Rickard Shield, Network Scouts can win the Golden Boot.

Event Details

14th – 15th March 2026

1800 hrs. onwards – less than 12 miles from the center of Bristol

• Night Navigation Exercise
• We track and support all teams!
• Explorer Scouts & Senior Section Guides (13 ½ – 18 years)
• ‘Golden Boot’ competition for scout network & Ranger Guides (18-25)
• Teams of 4-6 people
• 12 Miles (approx.) Whilst answering questions and completing challenges along the way
• No preparation required!
• At least 2 members of the team must be competent with a map and compass
• Camp over at the base
• Presentation of trophy and certificates at 0900hrs
• £50 per team (includes camping fee and refreshments)(£60 after 22nd February)
• All refreshments will be provided including breakfast
