Our new partnership with the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity!

Date: 19th Jan 2025 Author: Dan Wyatt

We’re proud to announce that we’ve teamed up with Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, and Gloucestershire Scouts to provide an opportunity for our Scouts to learn more about how the local air ambulance scheme works. We know how important it is for young people to feel empowered to make a positive contribution to society and what better way to do that than having the skills that will help them should they ever be faced with someone going through what could be the worst day of their life.

The Air Ambulance Challenge Badge is open to all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers, and is in 5 parts:

  • Helicopters
  • Great Western Air Ambulance
  • An Air Activity
  • First Aid
  • A fundraising activity for the Air Ambulance Charity

As well as supporting the Air Ambulance, this badge is a great way to complete parts of the:

  • Air activities badges
  • Community Challenge
  • Fundraising Activity Badge
  • First Aid Staged Badges

Sign up blow to get a resource pack for both badges. Badges can be ordered directly from the county office.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
