Rafting Course held on the 7th April 2024 at the Benjamin Perry Boathouse

17 Leaders attended this year’s training course held on Sunday 7 th April at Benjamin Perry Boathouse
The course involved learning about the relevant safety requirements to run traditional rafting with
their group and finished by building rafts using barrels, spars and knots. The attendees will be
assessed for an activity permit when they run a rafting event for their group.
Traditional Rafting teaches design, pioneering, team work and having fun safely on the water.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
