Avon County Scouts Cooking Competition 2026

Each year there was a South West Scout Region Cooking Competition (hopefully this will be reintroduced post covid). In advance of this and to see the great culinary skills of the Scouts across Avon we are going to hold an Avon Scouts Cook Off.

The top two teams can then go forward to the South West Scout Region Cooking Competition, which will be held at Shurdington, Glos. GL51 4TB

The Avon Cook Off will be a cooking competition in its own right. Attached is the challenge for this event. These rules are similar to the South West Scout Region Cooking Competition.

The event will be held at Keynsham Scout HQ on Sunday 8^th February 2026, and will continue even if wet as we will be inside. Teams should consist of 4 Scouts No older than 14 years and 6 months on 7th  February 2026 and should be prepared to arrive in uniform by 9am and be ready to start cooking at 9.30am. Each team will get 2 hours to prepare and cook their 3 course meals.

Whilst this is a competition, the most important aspect is, all the Scouts you enter have the opportunity to do their best, fully participate and enjoy the event. Quite simply I would expect the Scout Laws to be followed, particularly “a scout is to be Trusted”, namely following the rules please.

Below is full information on the competition along with the entry form. Please complete the entry form and return to me by Email by midnight on the 1^st February 2026.  No late entries please. I will confirm your entry shortly after this It is hoped that each of the 9 districts can provide a team or 2!
