Lead Volunteer Role Opportunities in Wansdyke District

The search is on for people to join the team that head up Wansdyke District Scouts (in Midsomer Norton, Chew Stoke and Keynsham areas)

Are you or do you know someone who:

  • Can inspire and enthuse
  • Applies strategic and creative thinking to a challenge
  • Could build and lead a team of key volunteers
  • Is resourceful and energetic
  • Believes in developing young people and volunteers in your area

The roles

The team DC role for Wansdyke Scouts will consist of four to five individuals who together with form the Wansdyke District Lead Volunteer team and who will work together to help Groups grow and deliver even more exciting and adventurous activities to even more young people.

It is expected that the team will share the overall responsibilities of the District Lead Volunteer role by taking the lead for one of following four pillars:

  • Support the 9 Groups in the area
  • Programme Support and Events
  • Volunteer recruitment and Development
  • District Support

Or by taking on the overall team leader role who will coordinate the lead volunteer team.

Team members for each pillar will be responsible for recruiting and supporting a team of volunteers to deliver on agreed development actions to support the groups and young people across the District.

Being part of the Lead Volunteer Team will be rewarding and give you an opportunity to develop yourself as well as inspire the Adult Volunteers and young people across the District.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
