High Littleton Win County Cooking Competition

Date: 14th Feb 2025 Author: Dan Wyatt

Congratulations to High Littleton Scouts for winning the Avon County Scout Cooking Competition at the 1st Keynsham Scout Hut this weekend!

Several teams competed in the challenge, cooking a variety of meals including meatballs, chicken burgers, steak strips, and a mix of sides and desserts, like pancakes and cheesecake.

The weekend was judged by the Clive, Phelpsie, and Stu.

“I always enjoy judging the county competition and meeting all the leaders and enthusiastic young chefs.

I feel that cooking is definitely a “Skill for Life”. This year’s completion was based around scout badges.

I was impressed by the way they kept to the brief, but also their skills, teamwork, cleanliness and that all food was prepped on site – no bought in readymade!

All three judges agreed on the winning team. It would be good to see a bigger, better supported competition in the future.

Oh, all the food was delicious, well done Scouts”

Clive Sandrey, Avon Scouts Lead Volunteer

The next County Cooking Competition will be running in February 2026, and further details will be announced nearer the time.
