Over the weekend, Read the full story featured one of our own Fosse Way Explorer Scout Unit  and honestly… it’s worth a read.

This inspiring partnership between Fosse Way School and Wansdyke District Scouts shows what happens when people come together with a shared goal: making Scouting accessible to every young person.

From campfires and cooking to archery and outdoor adventure, the unit is creating opportunities for young people with additional needs to be part of something bigger — building confidence, friendships, and skills for life.

What really stands out?
Not just the activities… but the atmosphere. Inclusive. Supportive. Thoughtfully adapted so everyone can take part and thrive.

Even Ofsted recognised the impact, highlighting the “wide range of new opportunities” and the chance to feel part of a wider community.

This is what Scouting at its best looks like.
Local volunteers. Strong partnerships. Young people at the centre of it all.
