Canoeing Course

Between: 15th June 2024 - 16th June 2024 Location: Benjamin Perry Boathouse, Redcliffe, Bristol BS1 6SP Sections: Scout Network, Adult Volunteer Event Organiser: Avon Scout and Guide Canoe Club

Two day adult beginner canoeing courses leading to the British Canoeing Discover Award are available on the following dates:

  • 15-16 June 2024

No paddling experience is needed to sign up to this course. However you should be water confident and be able to swim 25m while wearing a buoyancy aid. By the end of the course the participants may be awarded the British Canoeing Discover Certificate.

There will be a maximum of 8 students with 2 coaches. This excellent student to coach ratio allows for personalised coaching giving every student lots of individual attention.

These courses are primarily aimed at adult members of Scouting and Girlguiding. Any spaces not filled nearer the course dates may be made generally available to adults outside of these organisations.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
