Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) and Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) happens on the third weekend in October every year. This year it is happening on the 15th and 16th October and Scouts and Guides from all around the world get together and talk using the Internet (JOTI) and amateur radio (JOTA).

 

There are various ways to get involved in Avon:

JOTI Radio

JOTI Radio is a live radio station broadcasting world wide which will be running from 15:00hrs on Friday 14th to 15:00hrs on Sunday 16th October from the 229th St. Aldhelm’s Scout Group Hut, Ashton Gate, Bristol. There is an opportunity for Scouts to take part and talk to Scouts from around the world and some may get the chance to broadcast on the radio station! JOTI Radio @ Home

During the weekend of 15th and 16th October, when the radio station is broadcasting you can take part from home, using social media and MIRC or Teamspeak. There will also be live web cams and streaming from the radio station.

JOTA @ Woodhouse Park

The Woodhouse Park will be taking part in Jamboree on the Air. They will be using amateur radios to talk to Scouts all over the world. This event is available for everyone to take part in, just turn up at Woodhouse Park on 15th & 16th October from 09:00 to 16:00. There is no charge for this event.
