Avon County Cubs – Paris 2025

Between: 30th October 2025 - 2nd November 2025 Location: Château de Grande Romaine Sections: Cub Scouts Event Organiser: Avon Cub Section

We are organising an international trip for Cubs within Avon County to go to Paris in October 2025. This trip is being organised with PGL which will include a day at Disneyland and a day in Paris.

We have had to put a cap on numbers which means we can take up to 180 people, (provisionally reserved as 150 young people and 30 adult spaces). If you would like your young leaders to attend, this is also fine as long as they are registered explorers and therefore part of the Scout Association. We will need to know how many so we can ensure they are appropriately accommodated in their own rooms and not in with the cubs.

PGL will only hold these spaces for us for a very limited time so if you are interested in joining us then we need to get moving on booking you in and getting deposits across by no later than 25th October 2024.

The trip itinerary is as follows:

  • Full board accommodation in bunk beds.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the course of our stay. (Where lunch is provided, this will normally be a packed lunch).
  • Travel arrangements including collection from an agreed meeting point.
  • Evening entertainment programme run by PGL staff.
  • Daytime excursions/activities as follows:
    • Eiffel Tower (2nd floor via the stairs)
    • Bateaux Parisiens Coach tour of Paris
    • Full day at Disneyland Paris
    • Paris En-route hypermarket visit

Please note: If for any reason we are unable to offer an excursion/activity as noted above, we will find a suitable alternative.

This trip will only be available to Cubs who are registered in your pack as of October 2025 (unless otherwise discussed and agreed with the organisers). Any new cubs who are due to join after the deadline will not be offered a place unless anyone drops out.

All attendees must have a valid passport and GHIC card to travel.

If you do not have enough leaders to attend to accommodate the 1:8 ratio, please discuss with the organiser who could possibly link you up with another pack who may be able to help ensure numbers are in line with POR

All adults to have a valid Scouting DBS and up to date Safety & Safeguarding learning to be able to attend.

Cost will be:

  • £460 per young person (including young leaders). You may wish to subsidise this amount within your own group by doing fundraising events as part of your programmes, or even applying for grants (information of which can be provided if you need help).
  • TBC for Leaders as adults will have to pay as well, but PGL do give a certain number of free adult spaces. After careful consideration we feel the fairest way to do this would be to share a portion of the value of the free places across all adults, so we reduce the cost for adults. We can only do this when we know how many free adult places we will have, and this will depend on the final number of Cubs. Therefore, if you anticipate worst case would be £460, but hopefully that figure would be reduced with each free space we are given.

Payment Schedule will be as follows:

  • £75 by 25th October 2024
  • £85 by 15th December 2024
  • £100 by 28th February 2025
  • £100 by 30th April 2025
  • £100 by 30th June 2025

Payment details will follow in the sign up email

Please register your group using the form below

In order to answer any of your queries we are going to set up two zoom calls to discuss the trip. These will be held on 6th and 9th October starting at 7pm (links below)

We look forward to you joining us on this exciting adventure!
