Avon Adventure News – Event postponed
Further to the recent UK Gov announcement about the move from Contain to Delay in regard to the growing pandemic of Covid-19, and the advice from Tim Kidd, UK Scout Commissioner for local areas to review and make the best decisions in a calm, measured and appropriate way.
I have discussed with Isabelle Mills, Camp Chief & Simon Crowden, Deputy Camp Chief, and agreed that due to the impact for Health & Safety on our young people, volunteers, contractors, wider family members, visitors to the event, as well as our financial commitment, to make the difficult decision to postpone Avon Jamboree until 2021.
We are very fortunate to have excellent relationships with the North Somerset Show Ground Committee as well as supporting contractors, many of whom have confirmed that they will honour our booking when we will be holding the event between 28 May 2021 and 31 May 2021.
Update – 1 April 2020
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic – the Jamboree team are all having to focus on their professional jobs, and as such there will be a delay in getting the refunds processed. Please bear with us, and we will do our best to start the refund process over the next few weeks. Thank you.
Any group that has paid a deposit or paid in full will be refunded the full amount paid.
For those individuals that have booked on as staff, if you wish to be refunded, then we will honour this, or we will hold your payment for 2021, as we would love to have your help.
An email will be going out to the Group booking contact, with details on how to request the refund, and when the refund will be made, this is expected to be sent out in the next few weeks. Refunds will be made by BACs only, and we ask that you are patient as we process the payments.
