Wild Camping Experience, Training & Log Book Days
Date: 3 – 5 August 2018
Venue: to be agreed but within about 2 hours of Bristol
We are going to take a team Wild Camping – This can be your first time, or it may just be a grand trip for your log book. For those helping already in with DoE and Ten Tors it could help get remote camping added to your permit. It’s also a great opportunity to meet leaders who have different experience, offer, learn and exchange those vital tips that you can then pass on to young people.
You will need to spend an hour or so going through kit and your current experience with ASHU staff – just to ensure we’re clear on your intentions and how we’re going to help you get the most out of this event.
This weekend is also an ideal event for those leaders working towards a T1 permit or those looking to gain more log book experience. As part of this your time with our instructors they can explain how the hillwalking permit scheme works in a practical environment.
Cost: £nil, car share of costs might be polite, and own food, equipment may be borrowed if required
Assessments may also be available, if well booked in advance.
Closing date for applications – mid July 2018
An event booking form can be downloaded from.
An informal chat may help you feel more confident, this is open to all levels who have some experience of walking in the hills and campsite or greenfield camping.
