Reporoduced with grateful thanks to the Bristol Evening Post
| Scouts from in and around Bristol braved the great outdoors for a special
camping trip. The camp was part of the annual Post and Press competition. Tony Cockwell, the organiser of the event, said: "As the West Country is famous for for its association with the sea and ships, the theme for the competition this year was nautical. We celebrated the 200th anniversary of the battle of Trafalgar. Many of the activities the young people took part in were linked to this." Around 200 young people took part in teams of up to seven, each of which was led by a patrol leader. The children cooked their own food on open fires and took part in various outdoor activities. |
