New Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) for Volunteer Training and Development

Added 26/10/2013 test

Following an extensive search and appointment process, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Beth Stephens (formerly Phelps) as Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) for Volunteer Training and Development. Thank you to all of you for your input to the search process and for helping us to shape proposals for how the training provision in Avon should be structured and organised.

In this new role Beth will be directly accountable for the functions previously contained in the County Training Manager (CTM) role but will delegate operational responsibility for some of these functions.  We are currently working on a number of other expressions of interest for other roles in the team. Beth will make further announcements about this and future arrangements in due course.

Many of you will already know Beth who has been a member of the training team for some time.  She is highly committed to Scouting and excited about shaping this new opportunity. Professionally, Beth works in education.   She lives in Kingswood District.

I am sure you will all want to join me in congratulating Beth on her new appointment and in supporting her has she takes up this exciting new challenge. We also take this opportunity to reiterate our thanks to Rosmarie Kirwan who is now formally standing down as County Training Manager following over six years of excellent service in the role.

Best wishes,

Dan Wood
