Christmas Greetings from our County Commissioner

Added 22/12/2014 test
Dear Fellow Scouters,

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and to thank you for all you have done for Scouting in the past year.

As we move into 2015, we have some exciting changes ahead. Compass our new membership database will be fully implemented and the new programme and branding comes into place. We see Network provision returning to Districts and a closer working relationship with the youth in our movement.

Like life, Scouting is continuously changing which is why Baden - Powell called it a movement back in the early part of the 20th century. As we look further into the future the Scout Association has four key objectives that we should all strive towards in our everyday scouting leading up to 2018. These are Growth, Inclusivity, a movement shaped by the Youth and a positive community impact. In Avon we achieve most of these already and during the next year will focus on how we can be more youth shaped with adult guidance there to assist.

I finally want to thank all of your families and friends who support you to undertake your Scouting role. If it is anything like my house, there are many evenings that they are left alone or relegated to a back room to allow a meeting to take place. I hope that you will find time over this festive period to be with them and able to come back fresh and raring to go in the New Year.

Merry Christmas and a prosperous Scouting 2015 to you all.

Yours in Scouting

Graham Brant
