    Pears Foundation are supporting The Scout Association to offer six internships  (12 month fix term contracts) to grow and develop Scouting in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area. These exciting new roles will work in teams supported by staff and volunteers  to bring positive youth activities to new areas, allowing even more young people experience the everyday adventure of Scouting. Read more

  • Dan Wood Appointed International Commissioner

    We are delighted to announce that Dan Wood has been appointed to the headquarters role of International Commissioner. Dan is currently County Commissioner for Avon and will step down from that role before beginning his new position in September He has already contributed widely to the Association's development nationally in areas as diverse as our review of Programme, Fundamentals, governance, branding and inclusion. Read more

  • Government Award for Bristol Scouting Volunteer

    Local volunteer Amir Cheema has been awarded a UK Point of Light Award for his outstanding contribution to community life. Locally, Amir is District Commisioner for Brunel district (covering much of inner-city Bristol) where he has achieved great feats of growth and inclusion. Read more

    Scouting Membership in Avon Continues to grow with 600 extra members in the past year Scouting Membership has continued to grow across Avon, with more girls, boys and adults seeking out everyday adventure.   • Major New Investment in Avon Scouts

    We are delighted to announce our partnership with the Pears Foundation which will mean £200k additional investment in growing and developing Scouting locally on top of the support we have already received from the WPA Benevolent Foundation.  The project will begin with Kingswood, Brunel and Cabot Districts from April/May. Read more
