  • Scouts Celebrate St Georges Day

    With St Georges Day falling midweek this year, district celebrations across the county have been split over two consequetive weekends. On Sunday 19th April, over 400 young people and their leaders took part in Bath District's St Georges Day outing to Crealy Adventure Park in Devon. Read more

  • Let's Go On an Adventure!

    Avon County Scouts, in partnership with Isle of Wight Scouting, are going on an adventure! In Summer 2017, we are looking to take 12 young people to Uganda in order to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Gold/Queen's Scout Award Expedition, undertake a community project and enjoy a safari experience. Read more

  • Could You Share Your Skills on the Water?

    Avon Scout and Guide Canoe Club have been very successful in attracting a record number of taster sessions this year, a 30% increase on last year. However, they are now looking for some additional leaders to help out.  Dave Miles, Booking Secretary for the club, explains "We have been well supported by Avon County with funding for new boats and kit, so we now have a very modern fleet. Read more

  • Scouts are Prepared for Emergencies

    Would you or your Scouts know what to do if your world was suddenly torn apart by a major emergency? Over 100 Scouts from Avon and the surrounding area spent a day at Bath's Cleeve Hill Campsite learning how to survive the aftermath of a major incident. Read more

  • Need a New Challenge?

    Avon County Scouts are seeking people with energy and enthusiasm to proactively support, manage and lead teams of adult volunteers to ensure that young people have access to the best possible Scouting.  Do you enjoy working with adults and have management skills or experience?   • Get on the Water, with a Canoeing Taster Session

    Bookings are now being taken for kayak and canoeing taster sessions from after Easter until early September. The day light hours are the controlling factor. Due to generous assistance with equipment from Avon County Scouts we have been able to reduce the price of sessions and courses for this year. Read more

  • Get Ready for the Adventure: Avon Scout Jamboree 2016

    In May 2016, over 3000 young people from across Avon will be gathering for a weekend of adventure at the 2016 County Jamboree. The event will run from Friday 27th to Monday 30th May at The Windmill Fisheries Showground, Westerleigh Road, BS37 8QZ Have Your Say! We want every young person in Avon Scouts to have their say about how the event is run, and the first thing we need to know is what Theme you want for the weekend? Previous county Jamboree themes have been "Four Seasons" and "Ton of Fun", we're looking for an exciting theme, and a badge to go with it, for the 2016 Jamboree. Read more
