    The Sailing Section is keen to encourage more adults to join the team. Dinghy training courses for interested adults are being organised in the coming months. Anyone interested in helping with this popular and enthusiastic section are encouraged to take part in one or more of the courses and acquire Royal Yachting Association qualifications. Read more

  • Backwell Scout in Charity Climb

    Between Wednesday 11th May and Sunday 15th May 2016, Ollie Buckle, a Scout with the 1st Backwell Scout Group, Gordano District will attempt to Climb the Old Man of Hoy.  Ollie has been involved in Scouting since he joined Beavers, then Cubs and since the 19th April - the Scouts Section, in fact he was the first Beaver in Backwell's history to get all his badges, which he was very excited about. Read more

  • Scouts Chief Executive Celebrates Pears Project Success

    On Wednesday 3rd February 2016, Matt Hyde (Chief Executive of the Scout Association) welcomed and thanked Clare Campion-Smith - Lord Mayor of Bristol , Trevor Pears (Executive Chairman) and his team from the Pears Foundation, representatives from local businesses, youth and community organisations, Bristol City Council, Avon & Somerset Constabulary, Girl Guiding, volunteers from Avon Scouts and the Regional Development Service for attending the business breakfast. Read more
