If you’ve been reading my blog, you will have seen why I think outstanding Scouting only really takes place where “adult volunteers feel empowered, valued and proud” and where they enjoy Scouting. I’m not sure we yet do enough to recognise and celebrate the enormous contribution and achievements of adult volunteers to Scouting. So, firstly, let me say a big “thank you” to all of you. Secondly, let me encourage you to take a little time out for yourselves. As volunteers we should enjoy social time with other adults and we should make time to celebrate what we do. It is definitely okay to take time out during the Scouting calendar to just have fun with other adult volunteers. County BallOne such opportunity is being organised by our Scout Network for all adult volunteers (18+) and their friends/family in Avon. The County Ball takes place on 1st October 2011 at The Future Inn, Cabot Circus in Bristol. It is an opportunity for all adults in Avon to get together and socialise with like minded people. There is a three course dinner and dancing and the ball is open to all adult members/supporters in Sections, Groups and Districts right across the County. You can book individual tickets or a table of 10 at a discounted rate. For more information and tickets, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
