New District Necker chosen

The new district neckerchief has been chosen. It will replace the black and white worn by Explorers and the District Team in the old South Cotswold district and the black and yellow worn in Severn Vale.

As black was shared by both, it was felt by the explorers that this should be kept as a mark of the joining together of the two old districts, but a new second colour was needed, carnation being the one picked.

A mock-up of the new necker is pictured, being worn by a member of Tohil Explorers.

Young Leaders

We know that not all scouts want to join and Explorer Scout unit, but wish to stay with their group as a Young Leader. It is important to remember that these Young Leaders will not be covered by the Scout Association's insurance policy if they are not registered with the District.

All GSLs will receive a registration form from Nick Cook, our DESA, in the near future, together with a request to complete and return them to him.
