ScoutsVisit the Picture GalleryThe scouts of Avon county have enjoyed a huge range of activities here at the millenium jamboree. The activities enjoyed range from the traditional scouting skills such as pioneering, through the more adventurous like aerial runways and abseiling, and into the high tech with the internet cafe and the planetarium. ![]() Although the weather has been atrocious at times, spirits have kept high. Despite being cold and wet the scouts and cubs seem to relish sploshing around in the mud; keeping them out of it seems to be more the problem! ![]() Various activities such as archery and rifle shooting have proved very popular in the dry, but in the wet times curiously the scouts prefered the indoor climes of the craft tent and the futures dome. Crafts on show included face painting, plate painting, mosaic, dolly making, glass etching, mask making, brass rubbing, and making rope out of toilet paper. ![]() Evening discos have been put on to entertain the adults and chidren alike. My own troop have enjoyed these until they go to bed tired but happy, ready to wake up for more activities the next morning. ![]() District subcamp events have also been organised on top of the activities provided by the county. These include wide games and of course the traditional camp fire. ![]() |
