The Avon "MUD" Jamboree

This site was created over the weekend of the camp on the 26th-29th May 2000.

The weather was against us for most of the week before, and during the camp. However, the girls and boys just got on with it, and made the event the success it should have been. The weather improved on the final day. It is best summed up in the words of the County Commissioner (below). Virtually all the pictures on the site were taken by the young people on the site, with digital cameras loaned by Bristol City Council (thanks). The text has been contributed by lots of different people, both young and old. We have also included some of the websites contributed by the young people.

Quote from the (then)County Commissioner - Roger Starr

I am staggered at the way young people and their Leaders have responded to the challenge of rain and mud. The spirit is amazing - people smile and have a 'Dunkirk' spirit - nothing is going to get us down!
