Unlike most other university clubs and societies, Bath Spa SSAGO is a multi interest group. We do not have a focus of specific activities, but instead insist on a varied programme that offers a wide range of opportunities and events that is guaranteed to exceed that of other university clubs. - Natalie, Bath Spa SSAGO Chair

Everything we end up doing will have been suggested by our members. Activities range from Water Fights to Skiing; Monopoly Runs to a week in the Lake District, and we'll try anything once! You can see what we're up to on our programme page.

Despite popular belief, Bath Spa SSAGO is not a uniformed organisation! We wear a necker (which is optional) to most events as a symbol of our connection to Scouting and Guiding, but other then that we are quite 'normal' in terms of dress!

Activities are loosely based on a bi-weekly basis. Events are generally held on Monday evenings, although activities are planned throughout the week. Most residential activities will either happen during weekends or uni-holidays.

From September 2005, membership of Bath Spa SSAGO will cost Ł6 per academic semester, Ł10 per academic year. There is no joining fee.

If you are a student at BSU and you want to either start or continue your DofE award, then you can do so. However, you will be required to affiliate yourself with Bath Spa SSAGO and pay the appropriate membership fee before you can start or continue your award with us*. This gives you the added choice of taking part in all Bath Spa SSAGO activities.

DofE award participants are required to purchase a Record Book and Folder. The cost of Record Books and Folders have recently changed (April 2004). Please read the following carefully...

Gold (without folder)	Ł11.00
Silver (without folder)	Ł10.00
Bronze (without folder)	Ł10.00
Award folder	Ł 5.00

You only need to purchase one Award Folder, regardless of your progression through the different awards.

If you already have a record book for the award you wish to complete, but it is not registered with the Avon Scout County, you will be required to 'change authority'. This process costs Ł6.50

If you already have a Record Book registered with Avon Scout County for the award you wish to complete you can continue your award without having to renew your book or change authority thus avoiding costs!
