This year's Rickard Shield competition will be held on Sat 10th/Sun 11th March 2012 and application forms (and a poster to put up in your HQ) can now be downloaded from www.avonscouts.org.uk/rickardshield

The event is an 11 mile (18km) night navigation competition open to teams of 4-6 Explorer Scouts and Ranger Guides (13.5 to 18) from all units in the county. As long as you can use a map and compass then you can enter with no previous experience and very little preparation.

The event is very well established and always proves to be a lot of fun for those who enter.
