Calling
all Scouts and Explorer Scouts ...
County Ski Trip
How would you like to see out the centenary year in style and welcome in 2008 surrounding
by Scouts from around the world? If so read on...
The County are looking at running a Ski trip to the International Scout Centre, Kandersteg
in Switzerland from the 26th December 2007 through to 2nd January 2008
(just in time to go back to School). Kandersteg provides a wonderful opportunity for those
new to Skiing while at the same time providing plenty to challenge those who are already
proficient in this art.
The International Centre provides a
unique atmosphere in which to celebrate over this festive period as Scouts from around the
globe gather together at this permanent mini jamboree and as well as Skiing there will be
plenty of opportunities in the evenings to try out a range of winter sports from
tobogganing to curling.
The cost of the trip is likely to be in the region of £635. The exact price will be
determined when flights are available and the aim will be to look to beat this price if we
can.
Kandersteg in the winter months is always very popular and spaces quickly sell out. We
have been lucky in that we have been allocated some cancelled places but will need to move
quickly and pay deposits if we are to secure these places.
So, if you wish to be part of the County Ski Week please register
your interest as quickly as possible. Places will be strictly allocated on a first come
first serve basis.
To register for this event please forward your name, section group and contact details by
email to neil.salter@avonscouts.org.uk
or by letter to County Office, Woodhouse Park, Fernhill Almondsbury Bristol BS342
